The far end of the fishery proved the most productive with 5 barbel and 4 chub caught whereas the popular steps only produced 2 chub later on.
Nevertheless a good day on a lovely river

River in perfect condition. Fishing for salmon - sadly, none caught, seen or heard - not even a splash. Are there any salmon left in the Usk, I wonder? We did see a very plump otter - and 6 cormorants...

Three good friends enjoying a new challenge and beat. Excellent variety of water suiting our various techniques. None of us blanked. Best fish was an O/S trout of around a pound but most of the others were in the 6-8 inch bracket. The beat looks to be very well kept and it was pleasing not to have to collect up any litter. Thank you WUF and the riparian owner.

Three grayling in ultra clear water was a very good day, go slow or you'll spook everything, good quality Polaroids and some sun will help with fish spotting

Lovely mild morning, 0.7 Ross gauge and still with a bit of colour. Not an easy day but we still caught a few. Barbel between 4 and 9.10.alongnwith 4 lost fish. We caught on everything apart from meat, which is weird. Probably a day late but you win some and you lose some and as losses go this was not a bad one.
10 Barbel, 10 Chub
