the weather was rather windy, but we were successful. Water level higher than previously fished, but looked very 'fishy' ended with 1 barbel (6lb) and 7 good chub, all around 3-5lbs. all fish were in good condition.

A trickle of olives from noon brought some trout up. Will have to sharpen the reflexes to make the most of the very quick takes. A tiny grayling saved the day, caught on the dangle near the bridge.
Still, good to see rising fish so early in the season.

Tried various spots and eventually caught at the bottom end casting into the crease between the fast water and the back eddy. 16mm Halibut pellet did the trick.

If any springers did get up here on the recent high water, they didn’t want any of the copper and brass tubes that I put in front of them .The trout were a bonus though, both quality fish of 15” and 16” that took a small Red Devil tube, both returned.

River fining down nicely now , not as cold and wet as forecast and a pleasant day .

3 x trout 12-17 inches, team of 3 spiders, all Waterhen Bloa. There was a hatch of large dark olives about 1 o'clock, but in a very cold and strengthening wind the rises were very few.
