Fished the lower field right up to the beach swim. Missed a couple more barbel in addition to the one landed.

Very enjoyable days fishing we managed to land 3 Barbel two at 8lb + & one at 5lb all very hard fighting fish,

Booked 3 rods but only 2 of us fished as my son was sick & couldn’t make it, will definitely return with him at some point.

We caught 7 Barbel & 14 Chub in the faster water, best Barbel 9lb 10oz.

A lovely beat but a lot of walking for not much return on this occasion. will be back for more though!

The Canadian Geese population seems to have escalated and much to the dismay of a group of paddle boarders they took off on mass and flew downstream a few feet alarmingly over their heads...having to duck on a paddle board is not recommended but fortunately they all stayed dry!!
We caught a load of quality Chub and having arrived late morning it was pretty much non stop action all day...no preference for bait...whatever we lobbed out was swiftly consumed....Only 2 of us fishing with just one good Barbel caught but the other rod had the consolation of a beautiful Perch of 1lb 10oz.....Always good for us on the Creel and we expect it will fish pretty well for the rest of the season.

1 cock salmon, 4lbs, safely returned. Caught on a size 8 double Willie Gunn.
