Now that is a day I call hard work! 3 of us fishing from noon to 7pm and 1 trout caught at 18.55!! (About 1/2lb)
But can you really call fishing "hard work"? Not really - fantastic location and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We fished all tactics, nymph, wet, dry and combos. Started to see some rises about 6pm but they were very shy - several rising to a fly and not taking. It was a very bright and hot day. I was pleased to see a good flow of water despite the relatively dry conditions over the past few weeks.

A more productive day than yesterday. Overcast weather conditions. Chub caught to 4.5lb and barbel to 5lb. Really enjoyed fishing here this weekend.

Did not fish,water extremely low,fish welfare is more a issue atm.
It was a terrible start to the season,and looks like the same at the end.

Resorted to nymphing after an unproductive day last week. 5 trout landed on PTN over a fair distance starting at the hump-back bridge. Fished from 8am to 12, diverse but sparse insect life, no rises seen. Studs recommended, quite slippery at the moment.
