Found it difficult fishing with the Edw in its present shrunken state, but a peaceful couple of hours until the lads' motocross circuit alongside the river fired up in the early evening. Left the din for a bit more peace and quiet at upper Aberedw, where the parking area is currently blocked by timber and brushwood. Let's hope some habitat refreshment arrives
as forecast at the end of the week.

A pleasant day and a lovely stretch of river.
1 grayling caught at the bottom end of the beat (by the big house) on a GRHE, and a chub took a dry fly later on.
Had a number of splashy takes which just seemed to evaporate into nothing but I couldn't work out why.

I got a bit stuck trying to walk up following the information sent. Access to the river along the side opposite the pub is far easier, following the public footpath all the way to the end of the beat. There are a number of obvious (and easy) routes down to the river at suitable points - obviously a well worn bear.

River very low so fished off the croy into the faster water. Chub were very obliging and had a bonus barbel late in the day. Nothing of any size but plenty going on to make it a pleasurable day .

Fished with J J from Newport, first time on a wild stream. The river was heavily coloured due to a thunderstorm further up the valley so conditions were hard. Therefore we had to use streamers to have any chance. 8 fish landed in total, mostly small 6 to 10 inches.
