After a span of hot weather last week, we were told that fishing may not be available on the Wye when we had booked but had some luck as it cooled down just in time. Lots of algae in the water, but fished on beat 2 and 3 and found 2 chub. Good time despite the rain!

A proper wild beat. found myself rock climbing almost as much as i was fishing, and had a great time!

3 beautiful wild brownies all jumping 4 feet in the air while fighting, all from the waterfall plunge pool.

all released.

not a beat for the faint hearted or people used to the stocked, manicured chalkstreams :)

Very low water levels. Up-stream fly fishing with unweighted nymphs. Saw about half a dozen small brown trout jump, but nothing came near our flies. Must thank Charlie - prior to fishing (and afterwards) for his chat, help and assistance.
Will come back when it rains again in Wales and fills the rivers!!

Couldn't cope with the rain and rocks - age and knees! So abandoned any fishing. 2 years of Covid have hugely reduced fitness to fish - a lesson to the disabled to go for easiest access and keep at it!

Only two fished. A tough day with very low water level. The barbel was elusive and we packed up early after heavy rain.
