Elk hair caddis. Dry. River on its bones, lowest ever - very still. Very little activity. Quite a few 4/5 inch leapers, one salmon rose.
Excellent backdrop and great pathways cut out. Thank you.

A second blanked day. Didn't see a fish in 7 hours, I was flyfishing and my son was spinning.. This reservoir is too heavily poached night lines are prevalent. Would like to know when this reservoir was last stocked. Will not come back here probably go to Chew or Blagdon

Popped down to Wyebank for a quick evening session, conditions were varied with many showers one heavy. The Wye was running nicely, I used pellet with a feeder which produced four fish during my stay. Three barbel and one chubb were a reasonable reward, none of the fish caught were of any size but they all looked well given the recent conditions. All were rested before and after removing the hook and swam away strongly.

An enjoyable 2 hours at the end of the day. Trout rising but sporadically making targeting tricky. Two small and healthy brown trout caught and released without contact. Both taken on adams dry size 14.

Pleasant evening after heavy showers all day. Water just over .41m and warm compared to air temperature. Used a single size 12 spider pattern with partridge wings and alternate brown and blue lure flash wound body. Had an offer from a trout in woodstream which was encouraging and landed two others soon after of a pound and three quarters of a pound, but little afterwards. I switched to dry sedge at 21.30 in woodstream and enticed a large brown to smash it but it came off having left the water completely with aerial acrobatics. The fish was around two and a half pounds so disappointed I did not land it.
John fished pheasant tail nymph and landed three nice dace of around half pound each in woodstream. He also hade a take from a trout of around half pound but it came off.
Pretty good overall given the condition of the water.
