This is such a spectacularly scenic place to fish. It is a real privilege to be able to fish here.
The river had dropped a little further from the previous day and was running quite clear.
The fishing itself was quite hard. Chub could be caught but tended to back off quite quickly and were reluctant to feed for long. It was a case of constantly chopping and changing to keep bites coming. Managed to try all of the likely looking pegs along the stretch. Chub were caught from all of them.
Barbel were once again hard to come by. Only one was landed all day.
A guided party of paddle boarders used the ‘beach’ area on the inside of the bend opposite The Weir Garden as a picnic site. This was despite the fact that I was clearly fishing there already. They appeared to be very relaxed about this and I gathered that this is a regular stopping off point. Might be worth bearing in mind for anyone else that is planning to fish there.
Fishing Passport Note: According to the Wye Navigation Act, canoeists and other types of paddler should stop and get out onto the banks in emergencies only. While this is an unhelpfully vague clause in the legislation, it would be safe to assume that picnics would not be classified as an "emergency" and are in fact a trespass. In these situations, we ask that anglers politely request the name(s) of the company or organisation that is guiding the group (without ever putting yourself in danger) and pass this information on to us. We or the land/fishery owner will then be in touch with them.

Well its gotta be a fishing day on a Friday !! Cut all the hedges last night so was well in credit for fishing time lol !!!! Opted for the Whittern beat again , overcast but warm when I bowled up at nine , a nice day and again opted for only a tiny Parachure iron blue , did the business again , oh and I also had two in the glides on an eighteen f fly !! Lovely solid takes!!

River is freshened up, but the rain wasn't enough to effect levels ,.looked last night Titley gauge back down to.17 !!! But water was clear as gin and running running nicely to be honest . .

Seven to the net during my four hour session ,.and I did do some of the Lyonshall wood section too!! Otter prints in the mud for a good way up passed second Bridge !! Tarka been busy it seems !! Two of my fish were crackers one maybe twelve inches another eleven.ish !!! The others between eight and ten !Still lovely fat Arrow beauties . . .

Kingfishers busy all morning , and i think I counted seven sightings of grey squirrels!! Gggrrrrrrrrr !!!Anyway as always a fun four hours sport , will squeeeeeeeeeze the Edw in next week in between work !! A bit more rain would be good next week too !! Off home and a nice cold cider me thinks !! Ahhhhhh . . . Well earned !!!

Just one angler fished all day as others couldn’t make it due to health reasons.
Had 2 eels and a barbel just under 10lb. Luncheon meat definitely attracted the eels. Must have seen over 200 canoes but they were all polite and courteous for a change! They stopped after 3pm. Fishing was tough but still a good beat and look forward to fishing it again when a little more water running through.

Quite a quiet day Trout wise. As we came away, just before 5pm, we saw a rise starting. Weather dry and with sunny intervals and little wind, almost perfect conditions but no luck.
