A lovely stretch of river with lots of access to the river. Started at the slower deeper sections and worked down the beat.
Found more bites in pegs with quicker paced water.
chub came first and was beginning to think no barbel would be seen - then 2 fish in the afternoon as the sun went behind the treeline.
both fish around 6lbs and very hard fighting - caught to feeder + pellet
*There are a couple of fences / a small foot bridge to climb over - i can imagine this being difficult if you are less fit!
** the very first fence and stile is broken and VERY wobbly - this could cause an accident PLEASE TAKE CARE
*** am not a dog lover by any means but a dog walker told of how her dog managed to eat a bait that was attached to a hook while the rods were left unattended. This happened some time ago in summer i think she said. She asked if anglers could ensure their hooks didnt have baits on while out of the water and you take a walk!

Hoping to finish the season off with a fish but no joy. Paddle boarders entered the river at Boughrood Bridge and travelled down through the beat. I told them they should not be there, only to be threatened to have my face smashing in. Not for the first time this season. Something needs to be done

Cracking day, river looking lovely good amount of flow. Started on the beach section and despite conditions being bob on struggled to get a bite even on the float, which we tried for a while but to no avail. Then just as we had decided to go and try the bottom section I had a lovely barbel of 10lb 2oz. We still moved and managed a few chub from the bottom section, again nothing trotting, sometimes they just wont take a moving bait! then a move back up to the first swims really produced the goods. Chris had a lovely 6lb chub first cast back and i managed two more barbel weighing 9lb 8oz and 10lb 3oz. The last one literally pulling the rod round as I picked it up to reel in for the day. All fish came to spiced meat, didn't seem to want pellet as a hookbait. So 3 Barbel and 9 chub overall, lovely stretch, would recommend but access very tricky for lots of the sections and you need waders and or spike and rope for much of it.
3 Barbel, 9 Chub
