Nice evenings fishing. 1 x small barbel in amongst a shoal of very hungry chub. Good average size with the biggest going 5lb 8oz. Good fun.

Managed 4 barbel up to 9.9 we lost a couple as well

all caught on meat

River low and clear.

One big problem!
when arriving at one of our chosen swims an angler who said he paid ££900 per year to the Kingfisher syndicate on the the opposite bank had waded well over the half way point towards the wye & usk bank and was trotting a float about 5 yards from our bank, I explained that one of us had intended to fish in this particular swim ( as we had on previous trip ) but the angler refused to move saying the riparian owner actually owns both sides of the river and he was staying put for as long as he wanted and he did not recognise our rites as wye and usk ticket holders over his.

Although we caught fish in other swims this episode was very upsetting and ruined our day!!

Wye & Usk , please can you explain was this other angler from the other bank within his rites to do and say what he did?

Fishing Passport Note: No, he was not within his rights to act like this and we will be contacting the syndicate to ask them to refrain from this kind of behavior. Walking beyond halfway might technically be lawful if the opposite bank is the riparian owner of the whole river. However, the fishing rights on the left bank are owned by the How Caple Court fishery, so anyone fishing from the Ingestone side should not be casting beyond the halfway point.

Well plumbed for one of my old favourites !!! Good old faithful Kington beat of the Arrow , that I know so well . Dull overcast and a tiny bit of drizzle when I parked up at the Hergest Btidge at eight bells . Perfect weather I thought ,as I set up my trustee six foot , two weight rod and a tint Parachute Pheasant Tail . Did the business this morning , that and a Para Greenwells , And surprisingly good fish in skinny low water too .

Nine brought to the net this morning , ranging in size from seven to eleven inches . I did have a cracker on the dry just above the weir , strewth he surprised me , and really put up a quick five second scrap then he was off !!!!! Dooooooooh , oh well there for another day , wiser and and smarter no doubt !! All fish on the Parachute dries , Great fun as always . . . . . . .

The river is getting a tad low now , a lot of my casting was on my knees , and I'm feeling it now as I write this report !!! Running clear , no real algal build up on the rocks yet . Looks like rain into next week , so that'll refresh the rivers a good bit I hope !!!

Did not do the full beat , cut out into the field , were a pipe runs to the farm crossing the river at about waist height . Lots of debris building up against it WUF . May cause a problem later on , as might the two big trees down further downstream !!! A good bit of tidying up needs to be done here , it's looking very much unloved , especially up passed the weir !!!! Shocking state in places . But loop round these rough areas and you'll find some fishable water . . . . Just !!!!

Always nice to have a session here , it's easy for me to get too and very very local , so absolutely ideal !! Well a relaxing four hours , some lovely brownies to the net , a quick lunch then time to get some chainsawing done . . . . . No peace for the wicked hey !!!!!! Lol . . . . . . . . . . .

Just fished the morning. River very low, hot sunny day, slight breeze. All caught trout were small, missed two decent ones, watched as they came up to my Adams thourgh the cristal clear water, so excited I struck too soon. Rookie error!
One really large fish powered past me heading downstream making a bow wave like a nuclear submarine in the shallow water. I must try this beat when there is a bit more water. Fun morning though.

Good fly life and plenty of fish showing throughout the day - fish caught ranged from 6" up to around 16" taken on both dries and nymphs. Around 12 caught altogether and all were safely returned.
A canoe was launched from the opposite bank to the parking and used the downstream section of the beat during the middle part of the day despite levels being well below the red line on the gauge.
