8 fish caught on bottom using worm, slow start to the day, but got better as the day went on

Challenging beat and my light 9’ rod far too big for the tight conditions. Didn’t sight any rising fish and had no takes.

Very low. Plenty of flies on the water. Some action on dries.

A low and clear river combined with bright sunshine made for challenging conditions, along with a fitful and variable breeze makinf hatches fitful although there was the odd sulphur dun to be seen at times. Small flies and nymphs were the order of the day, with one trout falling to the #18 GRHE dink part of a klink 'n dink and the other six split evenly between a #14 Copper John and the same #18 GRHE on the point and dropper respectively of a Euro Nymph set up. Majority of the fish were csugjt from the streamier parts of the pools.

Excellent beat. Great fishing. Best experience. Beautiful weather. Clear water. Huge barbel caught by accident... lost.
