Warm day with sunny intervals. 6 BT caught by variety of methods - emergers, sedge & nymph.

One trout of about half a pound, in good condition.
Delightful venue, of course, but challenging fishing conditions with low, clear water and a virtually cloudless sky in very strong sun until about 30 minutes before dark. A stealthily presented, short drag-free drift with a dry can be achieved with lots of concentration. There was a quite dramatic fly hatch throughout the evening, but very, very little surface fish activity.
There was a very active family of otters around the middle of the beat (almost opposite the bench on the right bank - they seemed to be based there) which, however delightful to observe for a period obviously did not enhance the fishing experience.

Water dropping now below 1ft on llanstephan gauge and clear but nothing seen or caught

4 returned, 3 trout and 1 dace.
Plenty of flys, including mayfly.
Grey Adam’s was working for me.

Had one of those days we all get at some point or another. Very little went quite right, catching trees on the back cast ,getting tangles, having to wade in to pools to free the fly. Resorted to squirmy to save the blank. Few fat may flies around but little fish movement.
