Bright and clear conditions. Fish very fit and healthy.
Elk hair caddis dry - all on surface except one last take of the day on hairs ear nymph.
Hard work but very rewarding.
Thanks Wye and Usk - superb caretaking.
Jerry.

A properly authentic fishing experience & lovely river.

River very low & fish extremely spooky, plenty of them though!

Two bites on nymphs but due to too much slack in the line from casting from an awkward position - didn’t set the hook. Several follows on a streamer stripped through the bigger pools.

no fish caught but one of the better blank days!

I sadly had to leave before the magic hour when I expect they would start rising- but there were plenty of deep fast pools with flashes of gold telling me that fish were feeding through the day.

Fished from 0700-1030, first time on the beat. Only fished the lower section, water was low but some nice pools, spent a lot of time trying to tempt a few rising fish just below the wire fence over the river, but a combination of my skill, or lack of, trying to avoid the fence and overhang and wary fish failed.

A stalking, typical wild stream beat, beautiful morning but no fish. Will be back.

Walked a good part, of the bottom half of the section but didn't see anything to cast a fly at, therefore, no fish to report. I was a little disappointed by the amount of rubbish & broken bottles.

Water level really low , the access to the banks is almost impossible due to the nearby barbed wire, with high levels it can be very dangerous to fish, having no access other than along the river , very few trout of size, but before expressing a serious opinion I will have to go fishing again next spring .
I assume that the river is poached by the locals ,otherwise the presence of very few trout is inexplicable , I fished on small rivers and spring creecks all my life I know what i'm sayng
