Still big snags in the main pool which really need clearing. Stopped fishing there after hooking and losing a few as even though I fish safe running rigs I still don't like the thought of a hook and line caught in a fish.
Evening was better and caught steadily opposite the gardens

Pleasant day but with my son unwell (the other booked rod) did not spend as much time at the beat as I would have liked. No Salmon seen and the river and first fishable pool is a long way from the parking area, if like me you are getting on and have gammy ankle. Nevertheless when I found a suitable fly pool, it was fun and I did enjoy the fishing. Saw the odd trout rise. Water clearing and dropping, after recent rain.

Just fished a few hours this evening.
Put a spinner through the usual likely spots but the river was filthy with the higher water since Monday night. A long and pointless drive for a blank but I’m still trying to learn the nuances of this river after rain.
At least I managed to avoid the 1966 Blah Blah (yet) again on the telly.
