Water dropped to 1' on Llanstfan gauge, good flow and very clear. One brownie about 11/2 lb. Returned. On gold bead GRHE. Some fly hatching not many rides.
Staying at The River Cabin by Trericket Mill. Perfect if you are lucky enough to get a reservation.

Chose this beat for my first Wild Stream Passport outing. 2 hours of practice in a beautiful spot but not a sign of a fish. Water very clear and not so much of it.

River didn't look that bad when I arrived mid morning, not much fly life until later on when the occasional fish was rising. Missed several takes but only managed to land one. Unfortunately I had to pack up earlier than intended due to a splitting head ache.

Fished the Usk yesterday at Gilwern, on one of Gwent AS’s beats and, having caught some nice trout of up to 2lb on an OU Duck’s Dun for a couple of hours after midday, during a reasonably decent Olive Upright hatch, I wondered how the upper Wye might behave before the rain comes tomorrow - first visit since lockdown so had to be done. Whereas there were no fly after about 3 p.m. yesterday, it took until about then for today’s to (barely) appear! A few olives and OUs rose a couple of fish and the DD again obliged. Before that, heavy artillery jigs were the order of the day and accounted for the rest of the fish, including a couple of 2lb OOS grayling, and some 14-15” trout plus a lovely 18” 2.75 pounder. Bring on the rain to clear out the muck - the rivers are too low for early May and are also unseasonably cold, at only 7 degrees today and 9 degrees yesterday.

8 Trout, 3 Grayling
