A blank today, no sign of fish above or below. Did hook one Grayling but lost it due to fishing barbless, well that’s my excuse.

A beautiful autumn day on the river. 3 trout all to the dry fly 8-10" and 4 grayling on the nymph 6-16"!

4 barbel in the last two hours. Beautiful day and surroundings.

Started off in the first field but not a bite so we moved below the woods and fished two swims, one in the middle of the field and one towards the woods. We both had 14 barbel each with the biggest going 9.9. All caught on single 8mm pellet to a 16 hook, only one fish lost. River began to rise after previous days rain but we caught pretty consistently throughout the day.

28 Barbel, 1 Chub

Only 1 barbel up to about 5 o’clock then a further 4 and 2 chub in following 2 hours,swimfeeder fished pellet and meat as hookbait.

5 Barbel, 2 Chub

Only fish caught was an eel.

A tricky day with the river running low, clear and cold. And the sun out for much of the day. A lovely beat though and the fish did oblige later in the afternoon.
