A lovely autumn fishing day, the river was a nice height and colour. Couldn't keep the out of season trout off, did manage to catch a couple of 3/4lb grayling and lost a couple more. All on nymphs of various size and weight.

10 Trout, 2 Grayling

4lb grilse on a size 12 Usk Grub. River dropping and clear. Beautiful stretch of river with plenty of flyfwater. A great days fishing!

River looked perfect, but hard going very quiet.

3 salmon 8lb, 9lb & 10lb caught on a small red Frances/snaelda.

Beautiful autumn colours on the Irfon this afternoon. Arrived to a hatch at Aberbwtran Pool, during which two grayling escaped the net on dry flies. Managed two more decent ones on beaded nymphs further down the beat. The river looked to be in fine fettle. Leaves starting to fall now.

4x Grayling 10-14 ins , short lining with shrimp patterns. Cefnllysgwynne in all its autumnal glory !

Fishing a little slow due to easterly/high pressure but great being on the river for the day.

1 Barbel, 1 Chub, 1 Pike

River condition near normal. Fishing open ended feeder with pellet and luncheon meat hook bait.

First fish a hen of 17lbs caught on a Black and Yellow 1/2 tube fly with gold head at tail of Turn Pool around 3pm.
Second fish caught around 4 pm in Cafn Stream same fly netted by Joanna Fraser In next 1/2 hour lost 3 fish in Cafn Stream and Cafn
