River very low and water temperature impacted by overnight frost and hail. Fished four swims each and found very few fish feeding even off the surface. Fish very finicky and bites few and far between.

A final fish of the season. 2 to 3 hours into the darkness. Very occasional rises and no fish could be tempted with a dry fly.
There's always next year.

Low/clear water making it tricky but still caught, lots of greedy chub about!

A still and quiet (very quiet) autumn day. Not a fin stirred.

Working in the local area and fairly new to fly fishing. Didn’t finish work until later than expected so ended up starting around 5pm. Would love to spend a whole day here

Lovely beat! No trout caught, one hooked on black gnat in near darkness but lost before getting to the net. On to the next season!

River very low and clear. Very bright and sunny so not ideal conditions. Fishing patchy with long quiet periods. Had to search about for fish. Total is for the two of us.
