Well a glorious day when I was out with the pooch at seven , decided to plumb for the Edw at Hundred House , give it a bash, jobs done at the Ponderosa set off, arriving at the bridge at half nine, positively late for me !!!!

River looked a picture and was running at a lovely height, 16 degreees in my truck, and initially overcast too, the river had that usual brown tinge to it !! No upwings about till around eleven , so initially fished a tiny single flashback PTN , and interest from the off , missing the first one , but contacted with the usual stamp of Edw fish in the next section of broken water , a plump nine inch fish , lovely start !!!

Fished the PTN and 16 Parachute Adams all morning , alternating when dry or nymph may score better , and some lovely splashy takes this morning too in the faster water , also in some of the shallower glides , hammering the Adams with an explosive take . . . . . Super job !!!!

The morning was eventful and although I was super slow this morning , did maybe just over half the beat , for eleven lovely brownies, ranging in sizes from.six to ten inches , also five or six tiny parr too !!! Nice to see so many in here , great for the future of this little steam. . .

There is a lot of alder and willow down across some cracking water , and this beat is beginning to be a bit of a mess to be honest , needs half a dozen folks here for the morning , and some heavy cutting and tidying up, back to what it used to be like !!!

Still a cracking four hours sport , always willing brownies here to smash a well placed dry , just what it's all about , cracking stuff , back on one of the lower beats of the Edw next week , happy days !!!!

Great to see Bugeilyn again but hard days fishing. Just 3 trout for a lot of effort. Unusually quiet with very little surface activity or signs of feeding fish. Wind very gusty directly down the lake which made casting from either bank difficult. No action at all on top, tried the usual favourites, small black flies and many others without as much as a swirl. The three caught came to diawl bachs, nice sporty fish, few more would have been nice but very glad to have fished here this year.

No fish today, water and weather perfect. Spent an hour at the Home Catch but did not see a fish rise.
My conclusion- Social distancing.

Beautiful beat, truly a delight to fish once to get a good footing. Felt or studs a must. The locals were very welcoming.

Lovely weather day, river running well and clear. Plenty of a variety of flies appearing, but I did not see any rises. Fished all day with a gold bead hares ear on the point and unweighted nymphs on the dropper, trying to ‘match the hatch’ as they appeared. Landed 8 mainly from the streamier water, up to 9 inches, and missed a few sharp takes. Also a few parr, lots of them around. Also a first for me, 2 at 6 inches each at the same time. Not exactly on my bucket list but fun anyway !!
