River conditions were terrible, fast high dirty water, however decided to try a swim at the lower end of the beat where a big eddy had formed. To my surprise first cast produced a Barbel of 6lb 1oz, this was followed by six other fish to 8lb 2oz. Three eels were also taken during the day

Water was high, fast and red after Storm Francis so couldn't access most of the beat. No sign of any fish though the water cleared up as the day went on - I'm sure they were there. Also a small hatch of spinners around midday but nothing rising.

I arrived at home fishery at 9am to find 2 cars in the top car park. The hill down to the river is steep but ok for access. I found the Wye up a metre from mondays levels with good colour. Fished a nearside margin slack area feeding Chemobaits ChemoR groundbait with 2.5mm halibut pellets and Chemobaits ChemoR boilies.

Took 13 barbel from 3 to 9 lb throughout my 8 hrs angling with only a 1 hr quiet spell. Really enjoyed my day on here... looking forward to my return on friday!!

3 x "local" rods began fishing at 6.30pm for the evening session. River very high and difficult to find a swim. Managed to drop into some slack water on the long right hand bend before the Pylon swim. Managed 1 x Barbel must have been over 8lbs taken on pellet close in.
At around 8.30pm, 2 male swimmers went past in wet suits mid-stream being carried along on the flood. Been fishing for over 50 years and never seen that before!!!
