Loads of chublet and dace. Salmon seen chasing Bleak on the top. 4-5 pike in the margins. Still a bit clear and low and first frost of the year put paid to the barbel fishing. Temps dropped from 17 in the evening to 2 at the church at dawn.

Beat:Cammarch Hotel Irfon
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:1
9 x grayling 10-16 inches, 1 x trout 10 inches, Grayling Steel Blue and Red Tag. River very low and clear with little natural rising - grayling had to be tempted to the surface. 2 degrees morning temperature reached 17 degrees after lunch, which combined with a slow moving weather front, seemed to switch the fish off again.

Grabbed an afternoon on the Irfon, river is low, some lazy rises and plenty of refusals. Trout, 2 x 8-9”, Grayling, 1 x 10”, 1 similar lost at the net and on the final cast of the day a heavy 17” Grayling, all to #16 Greenwells. Visited by a herd of mares and foals who wanted to drink where I was fishing..beat a retreat!
