Fished pellet feeder. Barbel was just over 11lb ( not bad for my first Wye barbel) and the biggest chub was over 6lb. River was clear and weather overcast.

One small brown trout caught and returned. Six perch caught - these fish are a nuisance and seem to be taking over the reservoir. Where are the rainbow trout? Is the lake still being stocked?
Lots of walkers with dogs playing in the water, with no regards for fishermen. Also saw wild swimmers using the lake for the first time.

A hot & sunny day with the river very low - so not surprising that there wasn't much happening beyond the odd tremble. I was fishing a halibut pelt with a feeder, looking for the barbel. If the river was more accessible, I would have roamed around a bit, but the spots you can get down to and fish are few in the summer at this place. Lovely place to be in though. The drive down and back up would probably be a bit hairy without a 4-wheel-drive outside of dry summer days :-}
