Arrived to find river flowing fast, coloured and pouring with rain. After finding a place where I could clamber down to the rivers edge it turned out to be a great days fishing. Rain stopped, sun came out for a while and I caught 6 Barbel, smallest 6lb, largest 8lb and the rest 7-7.5lbs and a 3lb Chub all on either Elips pellets or luncheon meat. Nick who I was fishing with also caught a Barbel and an Eel, can't wait to get back again.

Fish were caught all along the beat in various swims, to keep moving seemed to pay off. Pellets and meat catching all the mentioned fish. Raining and river rising all day.

River level ok but still too Willy Wonka from the rain. Would be great if a method for obtaining info on clarity as well as levels. Few casts and then called it. Nice river though. Would be idyllic on a perfect summers eve.

A cloudy but mostly dry day. One large grayling lost before netting, one small grayling and one small trout netted and both safely returned. Excellent support and guidance from Jonathan Morris.

River still high but conditions looked good. Water was cold. Caught early but then struggled for the rest of the day. Fished six swims but the barbel were hiding somewhere and not really feeding

The river had dropped and it did look good I fished the manhole swim in the meadow, tried various meat and soft pellets but only had one bite about 2 o’clock on a halibut pellet which resulted in a nice 6 lb barbel ! Must admit I did expect more , but the weather was kind and plenty of birds especially kingfishers about so a very enjoyable day ,

all good sized Grayling, largest just under 16". A mix of heavy jig bugs on a french leader and some rising to Griffifths Gnat. Water was rising initially and then dropped back as the day went on.
