4 hours of rain and choppywaters with no bites, thought I'd give it one more hour after a fellow angler departed and caught the only fish I saw rise that day. No blank so look forward to next season.

Was fortunate enough to have a chat with Richard, the owner of this striking stretch of Wye water, shortly after arriving at The Rocks. As a novice grayling angler I got some good tips on preferable water height and parts of the beat likely to produce grayling. It turned out that today's water level was too high for wading access to the more productive spots so left the river much earlier than planned. Looking forward to going back when the level comes down and to fishing the recommended spots. This is a well maintained beat with excellent, safe parking.
