High wind, and persistent rain brought a real change in the weather, and made for a pretty tough day. Hardly any fly life today - a solitary mayfly and a couple of large olives, and I saw only one fish rise all day.
Managed 2 trout by persevering with very small bead-head PTNs fished upstream, both fish in fine condition and both safely returned.

Really enjoy fishing on the Lyepole, one of my favourite beats. Water levels low with the weather. Nice steady amount of fish throughout the day caught on beaded nymphs using a mixture of klink and dink and french nymphing. Around 4:00 a small mayfly hatch started to occur. Fish didn't really switch on but bought two up the the dry fly but didn't manage to put them in the net. A good day, most fish on the small side on this trip.

The river is looking good, although low, and conditions at around 7pm were perfect however, nothing rising apart from two very small trout. The path is atrocious and is very hard going, I still ache. I have decided not to fish here for a long time after yesterday's experience.

Good conditions and lots of fish moving - mostly grayling. Saw a large salmon jump mid-beat 3 and there was a lot of quite strange fish behaviour - lots of jumping and frantic flaping about on the surface. Suspect being chased by something larger. Didn't make it up past top of beat 3 but beats 3-6 lovely. Low water, but not a problem on these beats.

Another very warm day so I turned up mid afternoon preparing to fish through the afternoon into the evening. When I got to the river I wasn’t expecting to find two groups of young people sunbathing and a young family jumping up and down on the bridge whilst their dog was swimming in the river below them. It sounds horrendous doesn’t it, but it wasn’t. The youngsters sunbathing were really respectful and the family on the bridge were passing through and the father was making his children laugh. As for the fishing it was tough, although I did have tugs on my nymphs and splashes at the dry fly. I was rewarded later on with a 12”-14” brown trout caught on a cdc dun tied by myself, copied from Davie McPhail on YouTube. All together a good day.

Nice evening on Gromain, got down a little early so started on the nymphs and had a small brownie then a chub and then hooked into what I thought was a monster grayling put up a good fight but was a Shad of a couple of pounds good fun on a #3 ! The spinner fall didn’t really get going pick a few more browns up right at the top of the beat.
