First time at White House and it was muddy. Overcast but dry to start with the water level falling and running at quite a pace. We fished at the end of the upstream section with feeders, one on Halibut pellet and one on Red Krill both feeder. Halibut caught one Barbel of 4lb 8oz about mid day followed by a Barbel of 5lb 8oz to Ted Krill at 14.45 and a 7ld 5oz at 15.15. It rained lightly for about 2 hours. There was quite a bit of weed flushing through giving false bites. It was interesting getting back up the hill to say the least. Both got a whack from the electric fences.

Yet another Greenbank blank this season. No fish seen or caught apart from two OOS brownies that took a flamethrower and were returned. Water seemed to be at a nice height for the fly today with a hint of colour. Will give Rookery a go over the weekend, but after speaking to a number of knowledgeable local rods who are fishless this season, I won’t be too optimistic.

more rain during the night, so i was surprised to see the river quite clear and at a reasonable level. fish all caught bottom and top ends of the lower section. i thought the river would start to rise after the rain but i didnt realize quite how quickly this could happen ! ( it was rather difficult getting back across the river from the top pool, word of warning there! ) by the time i had walked back to the middle of the beat, the river had rose about 1 foot and coloured up dramatically !.this was around lunchtime but it was the end of the day for me. all fish caught on nymphs.

The river conditions were difficult. Fish came to pellets or meat using heavy rods and leads or feeders. Bank space is very limited due to the area being quite overgrown.

Frustrating day with a only a few knocks, probably from chub, to speak of. While lots of small fish activity in lower pools as the river continues to fall, the barbel and chub failed to show to pellets and meat. Lots of unwelcome midge activity due to still, damp conditions!

Not a great start to the day. Two anglers had left their landing nets hanging up to dry at base camp so we had to drive back again. Again, swims that had produced previously were barren but we eventually caught a few barbel each.

Having been washed off the Creel at the start of the week it was frustrating to find that rebooking has to be before December 31, which is not easy as the Creel is booked most days. Rebooking by the end of the season March 15 would be fairer. On a non WYeUsk stretch a wash off rebooking is allowed for the following year. Think we might be spending more of our money with them in future.
