Fished a new swim which proved to be productive in high water. Caught using just a hair rigged single pellet. Lost a few more to a snag. Fished there again later in the week an not a single bite. Location is key.

Fish were not at home in the usual hotspots. Water had dropped about 4 foot, leaving the banks very slippery and making it dangerous to fish some swims. Found a few feeding fish late afternoon after losing more tackle.

Fishing:Trout (River)

11 x trout 6-10 inches, Rusty Klinkhammer. A bright and still morning after a cold night. The water looked somewhat high and muddy, but I thought I would give it a try as probably this would be the last chance this season. Some of the regular pools were rather too turbulent, but a few trout were prepared to rise elsewhere.

Still 2.5 metres of extra water in, CG ended up with 14 barbel, CS with 6 and a snake (eel). Most fish on pellet and feeder, with the extra water in no pegs were fishable on the lower half of the length

River still well up from the weekends rain with a lot of colour. Most areas not possible to fish. Fished near margin slack along the meadow stretch. After a cold start and a light frost I managed 4 barbel of 5lb, 8lb, 9lb and 11lb. A small eel also made an appearance late in the day.

Water very high due to heavy rain, very limited swim availability ,three anglers caught six barbel between us to 9lb, all caught using meat close in. Just a note ,think twice about driving down to car park if you do not have a 4x4 vehicle

The river was high and unfishable in many places. We managed to find a few pegs and caught 3 barbel. Two of the fish were over 9lbs. Pellet and feeder was the successful method
