Water temp at around 18C so opted to not fish but have a good close look at the river.

Only got 40 mins night fishing in before the lightning chased me away.

I fished the downstream end peg from around 10.30 to 4.15.
Despite the hot and bright conditions, there seemed to be plenty of fish feeding. These were mainly small Barbel in the range of 1.5lb to 4lb and Chub of a similar size.
Given the conditions I was expecting it to be much harder going than it was but was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fish which fed.
Standard feeder and pellet accounted for most with a couple of the Chub being taken on meat.

Water lower than I expected after the weekend rain and crystal clear. Fish were in the fast deeper runs. One on dry, 2 on nymphs.

No luck today, beautiful weather, nice experience but no fish whatsoever. I've done flyfishing only lots of casting beginner. Thank you.

Too hot (agreed , WUF!)

A very hot and gruelling day. Floating weed not quite so bad as previous few days. River was low, brown coloured and looked lifeless. We tried hard with very little to report. My mate had a barbel about 3pm in the heat of the day ( 31c ) whereas I had to wait till the last hour for one chub and one barbel. A tough day.
