Beautiful dry bright but cold day. Fantastic spot to fish and well worth the trip. 5 rainbow trout caught and released, all about 12-16 ins long, all in good condition. All caught in the corner by the dam wall, close to shore, casting into a headwind. There were a number of fish rising around the lake, but no luck with them.

River level had dropped considerably on Saturday and looked better on the Sunday but was rising fast throughout the day and blanked for the first time. A couple of the swims that used to be fishable were no longer and did upset another angler on the day. A little more work on the swims accessibility and safety wouldn't go amiss.
