A very pleasant days fishing at How Caple, river was up but looked great, nice bit of colour. No fish early on so moved pegs and ended the day with three barbel , 7lb 9oz, 8lb 1oz, 5lb 7oz all in great condition. How Caple looked terrific, thanks to Andy the Gamekeeper who has done a fine job cutting back the growth with better access to the pegs.

Surprisingly no bites even though river good height but very brown and water temperature low.

I love this beat, but it can be a bit finicky and today was one of those days. The water levels and flow are falling, maybe a better day tomorrow.

6 Barbel, 1 Chub

A lovely day on a very coloured and fast flowing wye.the fishing was hard as we only float fish.but both of us caught a barbel and a few Chubb on pellet. Thank you to the landowner for strimming several swims giving us a reasonable choice for a wye and usk

River was up and fast flowing. We had to dig pegs out with a shovel to make it safe to fish. Difficult conditions but we still caught several barbel to 9lbs and a few chub. Great surroundings, we will be back!

John had a cracking day in the first meadow. Caught steady all day no matter what bait he used !
