Worm on float

2 Trout

Worm on float (2), toby spinner (2). Several people arrived at around 6.30pm (after 2nd visit by bailiffs) with no permits & started fishing.

4 Trout

Two fish hooked and lost. I don't mind not netting fish on this beat as I really enjoy stalking and observing the big fish that are up here, that's what I have to say to stop me going mad.

Hard going but probably down to our inexperience....lovely stretch ...missed a few on olives ... look forward to giving it another go ...locals say it's quite low at the moment..

1 Trout

A lot of large Shads in the pool. One salmon bite but hook out with jumping immediately. Other fisherman kindly thought me good spot in the beat. Thank you so much! I enjoy a day even no salmon.

Conditions seemed perfect with a trickle of various upwinged and yellow sallys. Nothing rising so fish caught on nymphs.

4 Trout

One of those confusingly challenging days! Fish rising very sporadically but very difficult to tempt. Tried everything from a size 20 IOBO to emerging mayfly. Eventually managed a fabulous fish of approaching 3lb, plus another of 12oz or so. Saw a salmon leap in the tail of tail. A lovely beat with clearly some large trout.

Good Morning fishing still quite cool but a few fish rising.

2 Trout, 2 Grayling

Good fishing spot. Seen couple of rises. Tried tempting fish on dries but fish were having non of it. Changed to nymphing. Caught 4 wbt.

4 Trout

After making an effort to delay my start to 3pm I was pleased to find lots of olives and a few Mays around and fish actively feeding, albeit not at the surface much. Plenty of attention from smaller trout in the riffles. A PTN with an orange bead accounted for about half and a black spider with silver rib the others. 12 trout to 12”, one oos grayling and two salmon parr.
