1 chub caught on bread.weather far too hot and bright.

2 of us fished from c. 11am until 4ish. River was very low and the fishing was very tough along quite a few stretches. We picked up fish from most of the likely spots in the conditions - a mix of trout and a few salmon parr. Both of us fished the Duo all day, with most fish coming to a plain nymph.

Beautiful venue, and easy to access the beats upstream of the bridge. No sign of any fish rising or feeding below the surface. Fished nymphs up as far as The Wall pool in the morning and dries closer to the bridge in the afternoon but no luck again.

Nb parking where suggested is not possible due to road signs and bollards, much better on the road, a safe distance around the corner from the bridge.

Lovely beat with just the right level of access and wildness.

Good fishing early on but got tough as the day went on and warmed up. 2 good size Rainbow and a smaller trout.

I have had a fantastic days fishing. 12 chubb and 1 barbel small one all in the same swim.. fantastic spot for a days fishing .

Water was a bit coloured but cleared over course of day. All the trout were small...

First time on this beat, very quite with easy access. Could have done with another couple of feet on water level(Or my landing net handle)!. Lost a fish each in the morning. Conditions were excellent at first but after midday bright sunshine
and very hot, far from ideal, and bites hard to come by. Had a visit from the game keeper around tea time,( didn't get your
name, apologies for that) but enjoyed our chat, pleased to meet you. As the sun went off the water we thought the last couple of hours would produce, however, several "knocks" but only two developed into anything substantial and both resulted in hook pulls!!. A wide range of baits tried including corn, pellet, various flavoured meats, cheese paste, boilies and trotted bread, most to no avail, only takes were on meat and pellet. Over all result, four fish lost one Eel landed, a nice day on the river but a tough day's fishing, lets get home and watch the cricket, --------- Oh dear!!!
