No fish caught, very bright sunshinw and very clear shallow water. Sadly I cam across three fish head that had been cut off most likely by a knive. Only one of these fish would have been big enough for catch and kill and much better if the person or persons resposible took their waste home rather then leave them to rot in the river.

Beautiful weather, the trees changing colour, King fishers, Dippers, a Salmon running and an Otter fishing the other half of the same pool. Add in a few Trout, Grayling, nothing larger than 14" but in great condition and a Parr caught on dry fly and you end up with a near perfect day.

Not our first visit to this beat so easily found. Mostly we fished the swims downstream of the centre tree line. It was an odd sort of day, there were fish to be caught but the bites were sporadic at best. One angler in a downstream swim managed to catch five barbel (with two lost) whilst another fished the swim just down from the tree line for 2 barbel and 2 chub. Most of the rods did a bit of moving around.... but getting a spot to fish consistently proved tricky. The level of the river seemed good, I'd hoped for a bit more colour in the water (it was clearing rapidly as we were fishing). Overhead it was generally sunny with an occasional overcast spell, perhaps the fishing replicated this a little. Whatever, it was certainly not our worst day on the river... and to spend a few hours in a place as picturesque is always time well spent.

Fly on intermediate and floating lines. No offers. Access to water quite good especially in lower areas of beat. Would much prefer to have fished it when water a little lower. Would go again

All 3 of us fished the first part of the beat. Didn't start fishing until mid morning. Had bites straight away, fishing from the hut peg. Biggest barbell was 12lb 2oz. All fish caught on pellet. Was hard going in the afternoon /early evening. Lovely location will be back.
