Fished by the downstream car park but struggled due to large numbers of canoes( at least 200) I wish I could report that they were considerate but many were ignorant and caused endless problems. Also had a number of swimmers go through!!! Had 1 barbel here before moving to the swims half way down the venue where we had 5 barbel in the last hour between 6-8lbs. Nice venue but a little work to open up swims would make it even better.

Sunny with some trout rising briefly in the glide in the late afternoon. Small hatch of pale UWF and gnats.

Fished from 8am till 4.
Lovely day on a great beat.
All grayling between 3 and 10 inches, 20 of them only about 3 inches all from same pool, trout approx 6 inches.
All fish but 1 to small ptn fished duo below a klinkhammer, which accounted for the trout.
Spoke to someone staying in the cottage and they told me that they had seen mink hounds on the river. There was certainly evidence of dogs everywhere.

Oxford Ice Fishers End of Season trip - 6 Brown trout caught to 10 ins in sunny warm conditions mostly on nymphs fished downstream.

Sunny ,low water, sparse fly hatches, hard fishing. Will visit again because we know the water is better than this.

The river level had dropped back to near summer level and with a cold start and a sunny day the fishing was not easy. I spent the morning getting to know the bottom half of the beat and picked up a couple of Grayling on nymphs. The afternoon was spent casting a Klinkhammer under the trees on the far bank for a few more fish.
