Short 3 hour session , level dropped nicely on the Builth Gauge to 1.4m and a tinge of colour . First hour on the fly resulted in 1 nice Grayling around 1.5lbs . Switch over to trotted maggot through a deeper run saw another 5 plus an OS trout . Sun came out and that was the end of any action

After yesterday's comedy of errors that was my Abernant debacle, I don't think I've ever been so pleased to see a 10" spotty! Golf can wait! Chatting to a couple of the natives they were both of the opinion that there was still too much water in the river for good Grayling fishing, having struggled for bites this weekend I can bear that out. However, I now at least known what the river looks like when the gauge is showing 2'at Llansteffan. So a little grist to the mill and I still enjoyed a couple of days in beautiful surroundings, hardly a waste of time.

First time on this beat. Fishing for Pike. Conditions looked OK and there were several swims with slack water, but nothing was happening. I continually hopped swims and tried various deadbaits and methods, but if they were there they weren't having it.

A pleasant day, with the river fining down after last weekend’s high levels. Only one bite though, to pellet feeder fished with a cut down boilie. Not a sniff on maggot, much to my surprise. Lots of bird life to watch though as always
