Beautiful spot. Lovely day, one fish seen, nothing rising, nothing caught.

1 Trout

Four good-sized trout hooked on twitched mayfly fished in the margins but all came off - had to adapt as slow-moving gin clear water made conventional approach very difficult with so much real fly life to compete with - could see fish coming up and rejecting what I though to be very good matches on ultra-light sunk leader with zero drag. This is a lovely beat with a good mix of water and no dog walkers. Will easily accommodate the maximum rod number. Other rod also struggled to compete with the rich fly life coming off, but neither of us cared as just being on this beat is enough.

Too hot! No fish. Plenty of activity the day before though, classic.

New beat to me , hard work , tons of walking climbing fighting bushes , Gin clear low and bright so hard work, 5 trout in the daytime on french nothing then a few on dry fly at dusk , non worthy of the landing net Charming beat with plenty of options and places to try , never covered it all

River low and slow so hard to not spook fish. Had 2 missed a few. Great beat, very 'wild' stream and will text your casting! Will try again.

My son and I had an excellent day on this idyllic stretch of the Arrow. There were lots of mayflies and sedge hatching throughout the day. The river was in great condition and relatively clear. We spooked and missed a few good fish - this was my 8 year old son's first try on a stream, but he was thrilled to bits after catching a very good trout on a dry mayfly pattern. The other two fish were caught on PTNs fished NZ style. All our fish were carefully returned.
We were given a very warm welcome on arrival by the farmer, who looked after us throughout our visit and couldn't have been more helpful. I can't praise Arrow Mill enough!

Poor fishing in the middle of the day, not enough shade and water slowing down too much as I got closer to the big downstream weir. The Motley wood beat is better in that respect, more shaded & with more flowing water upstream of the 1st weir.
