After reading previous reports we arrived thinking that it would be a real struggle to tempt anything. River very low but instantly found fish in every pool we tried! Grayling ever willing to take a nymph fished through the fast deeper pools with the best touching 2lb and plenty in the 8-12" range. More trout above the bridge again with the best touching 2lb. We were hoping that the evening would bring some dry fly activity but saw very few rises and everything coming to nymphs. Great day in great surroundings

Another wonderful day on the Wye. Started fishing at around 6am but wasn’t expecting much as the river was very low and the temperature was very hot. We fished the first crib and after getting some feed going the swim started to show signs of fish. Had 2 nice barbel and 3 chub by 10 o’clock and things started to go quiet as the temperature crept up, so at midday we decided to pack down & go to the pub for some lunch & get ready for the England game.
We returned around 6.30pm and this time decided to fish the Thomas Wood crib, where we had 4 more barbel & 2 more chub between us on the run up to dusk and into dark, followed by two rather large eels, which was our cue to call it a day. Beautiful venue & great access. Will be back again!

Fished the afternoon with river was running reasonably well given the recent dry spell, although very few rises to be seen. Access currently gets more challenging moving upstream beyond the half way point. There are several fallen trees or significant timber debris "strainers" needing to be negotiated from the beat start, although they are providing fry with cover and habitat and there are still plenty of opportunities to cast a fly. Managed to find fish in deeper fast water at head or tail of runs. Landed 4 feisty trout between 15 and 25cm and lost around twice as many mainly on a stonefly nymph. Saw plenty of fry in the shallows.
