Fishing for salmon and landed two small, half pound, trout as the fly came around on the dangle as often happens when the current slows. A big hatch of March browns around 1 pm as temperature rose on a near windless day.

A grey and calm day with clear water. A little fly life from time to time, but generally very quiet. A couple of missed takes on the Adams was all that disturbed the peace.

Arrived at the beat around 11am to light rain which eased off around 1130, about 8 degrees and gradually warmed up in the afternoon to around 12 degrees, a dull day.

All fish were caught on dry flies (size 14 march brown), there were several good hatches throughout the day to monopolise on. I tried nymphing as well but no luck. Although fishing for WBT, I wasn't disappointed by the enthusiasm and aggressive strikes from the Grayling.
This is a wonderful beat with plenty of access, variety and good parking at the camp site.

Beautiful beat and great conditions. We had very good feeling about the day but unfortunately, as on previous 2 days, we did not see any salmon. One grayling on 12g Flying C was a huge surprise.
We loved our 3 days fishing on Wye and we'll be back soon for sure.

Fished for a week on Aber AA llyns. Stayed in a caravan on llyn Frongoch (See Aber AA website for details). This was a family holiday, so fished for a few hours each day. Tried 6 of the llyns. All fished very well - a mixture of rainbows and wild browns on Frongoch (Rainbows to 3.5lb browns to 1lb+) . The other llyns produced mostly wild browns (and a few stocked) to just under 2lb. These lakes are hardly fished, yet they offer some of the best value stillwater trout fishing in Wales (£20 day ticket covers 24 hours fishing, and the River Rhiedol for sewin!) Magnificent scenery too.
