Very lovely day. Water a bit high. I didn't see any sign of salmon activity, apart from these 2 trouts that went for my cascade fly. Lots of hatchings of various types.

Enjoyed glorious weather but difficult fishing conditions. River clear and running fast but could not contact with any fish on my weighted nymphs. A very small trout which took a weighted nymph and saved me from a blank. Was very impressed with a mass hatch of LDO when the sun made an appearance. Trout didn't react to this. Had a chat with the Salmon angler later in
in the who advised me that previous week river was some 2 foot higher.

Very bright warm conditions resulted in few flies hatching and subsequently few fish rising. Best tactics were wet fly in the faster water.

Very bright conditions with a cloudless sky made for difficult conditions with the fly rod. The numerous bait fishers on the North Bank won the day.
The road is in a dreadful state.Surely Welsh Water can afford to repair it. Wouldn't take a tractor on it let alone a car. Fantastic venue but seems to be poorly policed and managed.

River looked slightly high but clear. 3 caught on dry fly (black klink) size 16. 1 caught on hares ear nymph size 14.
Biggest fish just over 1lb. Had lots of refusals/coming short. Took several pattern changes to get good offers. Very warm and sunny day.

A truly beautiful morning of bright sun-shine and very hot, good for a walk with a camera (and toting a dry fly rod along), but nothing hatched and nothing rose. Had to leave at 1.30.
