Minus 1.5 degrees and the river running high but clear, so it took a while for things to get moving. In common with other recent reports nearly all grayling were caught in the faster moving water rather than on a deeply fished bug in the slow stretches, nevertheless they all took a tungsten headed soft hackled fly fished below a klinkhammer. Great to see a number of salmon moving through and I hope they escape the attention of the poachers who left a small mepps hanging out of reach in a tree half way up the beat. Best fish was 15 1/2 inches but most in the 10-12 inch range and very lively strong fish. Incidentally I fished the bottom beat of the Cammarch Hotel the following day and fishing was equally good until a sharp rise and colouring of the water put paid to fishing at about 2pm. Again several salmon from medium to large size were crashing around.

15 x grayling 10-18 inches, 5 x out of season trout 8-14 inches, long trotting. An afternoon season until dusk. Mostly 10-11 inch grayling but several 15 and 16 inch fish and a specimen of 18 inches just before dark. The river was rising slightly at the end, presumably caused by light rain earlier.

DC & GC found it tough today, the water was running fast with a tinge of colour. All fish taken on nymphs, with nothing larger than 8".
Many thanks to the fishery owner and W&U.

Mild with light winds. No surface activity and all fish came to nymph patterns. Shared the river with several kingfishers.

A perfect day on the Wye with good flow, a little colour and a mild, cloudy, still day. I caught barbel at regular intervals throughout the session on pellet/feeder. Most were in the five to seven pound range with the largest at 7lbs-11ozs.

I failed to find any of the shoals or indeed have any luck nymphing but was compensated towards the end of the day by two 12" grayling on a Klinkhammer, plus one OOS trout. Fantastic to see a large cock salmon repeatedly leaping in the largest pool, flushed up red and ready for his salmon-business. Owner as friendly as ever

Good day. Was going to be a short session so decided not to move about and trust that the fish would find me. Weather was grey but comfortable and river carrying a little water and plant debris. Stuck with feeder and pellets and had a few bites spread over the session. Again a warning to visitors - access through the farm to the river requires opening and closing two gates and a clipped electric fence and the area can be muddy so be prepared with wellies and some protection for your car footwell otherwise you'll coat the pedals and mats with a heady mix of liquid mud and cow s**t.

Only caught 1 small perch. The water was a little shallow and we didn't see much activity. We were trotting maggots.
Gaining access to the water was hampered in the northerly direction by live electrical fencing which made getting to the river difficult. It was better in the southerly direction and there were less brambles and other vegetation blocking access to the river from the bank.
