Just the one fish to hand today but bounced off a couple of good sized fish and where all up in the wooded section which is a fabulous section and just to be in there is a joy . River was very quiet with surface activity which kind of figures with the time of year , was hoping for late evening spinner /sedge action but not today. River bed is pretty greasy in places , had a few interesting moments! A nice number of fish on the go up top just above the mini waterfall (see pic)as you go in to wooded section , midway along the pool length and rising under the trees .Missed a couple in fabulous run below waterfall.
Besides trying to get one or two of the very good fish in the net that reside up here the mission was to soldier on up to the Senni confluence and have now sussed that out and here's how if its of help to others - hop over the wall at the road bridge across the river where there is a garden gate (padlocked) and follow the garden hedge to the right a short way(had a good chat with the house owner here as did think I may be encroaching on his garden but no problem at all ) and very shortly there's a set of stone steps down to the river . Go down those and then its flat bedrock with very little water running over (at this low flow) then walk up till you get to the tail end of a big long deep looking pool (could be interesting if there's a hatch on) and there you can scramble up the bank in to the long field .Follow the hedge line (skinny water for most part here above deep pool ) and then there's a hedged 'compound' with a set of large locked gates as you approach and about 25 yards before there you can get down the bank ok . Fabulous looking big pool here, verrry fishy and deep and with good flow too, flat bedrock slabs on the bank side so you can work up the side of the pool to next good pool above . That's as far as I got and only had time for few casts a the light as going and bit of a trek back to car park but looking at Google earth it looks like there's some interesting water around the corner and confluences can be good ! Next time.

The fish were very easy to spook until dusk when I caught two and missed a few more on a CDC spinner. One was 12" and the other 10".

No fish caught. The rain we had yesterday appears to have had no effect on the river.
Three fish rose below the neck of the Rectory and they were in the same place as at my last visit.
Two of these fish (In the Pot area) looked a bit long and lean. The other fish looked reasonable.
I hate to say this but a flood lasting a few days is required.
Still, enjoyed myself as usual.

Salmon from the bottom of the spring pool, a very large cock fish around 28 to 30lbs. Taken on the fly, took me over a hundred yards down river, and nearly an hour to land it.

Other = 2 Salmon Parr. All fish caught on emergers ..... shuttlecocks and Klinkhammer river had risen appx 9-12in after overnight rain. Good rise at around 1230 didnt start fishing until 1130am. Myself and my fishing partner had roughly the same amount of fish each. Both lost a few fish. All in all a good day. A bit challenging at times . Bottom of stretch and wading upstream proved to be best.

Fishing one of my favourite beats. Great start with 5 barbel all over 8lb in 6 casts and then the sun came out and the whole river seemed to switch off. River desperately needs some rain as it was gin clear and very very low.

Saw three salmon jumping at the same time one was in excess of 20lb. Spent a couple of hours birdwatching instead of fishing!
