River still relatively low and clear. Quite a few grayling rising. Caught 4 to a dry fly and lost many more!
Spent a great day fishing with an old school friend. This is a lovely beat and one we shall definitely return to at a future date.

4 Grayling

Excellent beat, although the grayling were fairly small (half pound).

9 Grayling

Firstly my sincere apology to mr V.C from Holmfirth, I found his rod and reel.....well my car did, it ran over the reel and squashed it ! , how it missed the rod I will never know . I hid it behind my car just in case someone came back for it , and on my return it had gone ( his friend collected it ) again very sorry!. as to the fishing , well I caught loads of small grayling ( only 19 over 8") and 5 oos trout up to 12". the biggest grayling was 12". the water was very clear and nearly spot produced.( could`nt fish near the cottage) all fish caught euro nymphing, didnt see a single fish rise!

No fish today although conditions looked perfect !

2 Anglers, AL took 12 fish oos trout BG took 6 fish including one oos trout.
All fish to nymphs in duo or French leader.

2 Trout, 16 Grayling

Couple of hours after work produced a nice double figure pike on a mackerel tail from the upper end of the beat, lost a fish also. River low-ish and clear water, warm sunshine for the time of year.

It's a shame that WUF cannot offer a discounted half day ticket, as to pay £23 for 3 hours fishing seems rather a lot.

1 Pike

A lovely beat with lots of varied water. We fished dry fly and nymph and took fish off the top as well as from down below. Fish were moving to small Stonefly and Sedge on the surface and small orange shrimp patterns fished deep tempted the Grayling. The river was low and clear but fished well. A lovely day.

2 Trout, 12 Grayling

River clear and weather bright all day, so the barbel were difficult to tempt. However, chub kept the action going in all three swims I tried. Barbel to just short of 7lbs, several of the chub at 3lbs+. Most fish on pellet/feeder, with a couple of the chub on meat.
