The river level dropped slightly overnight but the water was still coloured therefore fly fishing was almost impossible. No salmon!

River was very high and still quite coloured, fished hard all day, very difficult to fish without knowing where the rocks and obstacles were. Croy was under water, ladders and steps to most Pools were inaccessible due to high water. Would like to fish Beat under more favourable river conditions.

1 x 10 inch trout on nymph - fairly boisterous water with colour. This beat badly needs pruning, please note.

The river was high and the water coloured so little chance of a salmon. Tried some spinning to no avail!

River high (grass around 1’6” underwater in places), Lovely sunny day, 21’C, nothing seen at surface. Tried swinging downstream and upstream nymphing as it was bright. 7” fish came off after breaking the surface... no other encounters.

Very few rising fish. A few March Browns and LD Olives and substantial numbers of stoneflies on the water. Most successful fly was a Stimulator mimicking the stoneflies.
