Full sun. Fished 4 hours to sunset. Saw no fish. No hatches.

Lovely day with clear blue sky and my first visit to the Usk for a couple of years. Lots of flies hatching when I started fishing just after 10.30. Hooked and lost a nice fish second cast, on an olive spider. Alas that was it. Switched between a team of wets and a dry fly but apart from a couple of splashy rises to the dry didn't make contact with another fish.

River clear / 1.75ft and falling / bright sun

Day 1 of the season for me. 3 fish to 1.5lbs. First 2 on March Brown dry. Last fish black Wooly Bugger. Cracking hatch in the middle of the day 11.30am-12.45pm, then quiet. Sun blazing hot - 16 degrees. No cloud. Missed 2 on dries before I caught in the morning, and then missed another in the evening shortly before my last fish. This one felt heavy and attacked the steamer, rod tip bouncing, then was off.

No fish, hot day, see Abercynrig comments. Found x2 other anglers on Dinas, one of which was booked, the other had strayed downstream from Brecon Anglers beat.

No fish caught, fish eating birds have taken over, I counted 18 in my area.
