Rearly enjoyed this venue even though the conditions were challenging. Had to fish the near bank but eventually found a few fish.

No signs of life at Blackpool brook, its a challenging bit of water. Bideford brook was pure heaven. saw plenty of fish rising but couldn't tempt any on the dry fly. managed one 6in fish on a bead headed nymph and missed a few takes. the perfect bit of river for my 6ft 4wt split cane. This beat is a true gem!

Although the river was high and coloured, it was fishable if in places overgrown with brambles. I didn't see or touch any fish, but saw kingfisher and dipper

Difficult conditions, with the river high and pushing through fast. Tried a couple of swims each in the meadow, fishing close to the near bank with pellet. One barbel landed (five and a half pounds) but no other bites at all between the two of us.

Found the baliff Colin Richardson very helpful doubt we would have caught without his help. Ledgered meat half way across. River high and colored.

First time on this beat and pleasantly surprised with easy access and parking and lots of good spots to choose from. I fished the upper section and my partner tried the bottom stretch. River was quick requiring heavy feeders to hold station and a little coloured, falling about 6" during the day. 3 fish taken on pellet around midday and one on flavoured meat at about 5pm. Nice way to end the season.
