Lovely day fishing - had 2 wbt, one beautiful 15" fish caught on a brown nymph with gold head, dropped off a big attractor fly pattern. 2nd fish caught on an olive dry pattern. Water is v. clear, so long leaders and tippets needed

Morning started with a flurry of fish catching consistently for first hour, on nymphs. Takes slowly dried up and then caught a few more on dries but cold wind put pay to the fun. Water clear and low.

It was our first visit to this water and we had a great day. We arrived around 10am and started catching right away on heavy nymphs. As the day warmed up a few olives and the odd march brown appeared. The fish took a while to rise but once they did we had a few trout on jinglers. Biggest trout around a pound and all the out of season grayling were a good size, with one 1.5lb.
All in all a great day, watch out the wading is challenging!

I was camping in the valley and thought I would spend a couple of hours fishing. As I expected there was very little water in the river and the trout were hiding. Nothing caught.

Flurry of localised Brook Dun saved the day on a low clear and cold river. But beautiful. Thanks for Jones of Wales' help....
