Directions worked fine, and with a 4x4 the access was very easy all along the river bank to the whole stretch, and access to what I assume are the main spots was easy. There is what I assume is meant to be a stile further up-river but this is treacherous and one day is going to fall over and send someone down the bank with it; could really do with fixing. Apart from that, well maintained. Thanks for the access.

Water levels very low (0.16m at Ross). Bright and sunny and hot in the morning, rain from 1700 onwards. Fished from 0700 to 2000. Float fished on the gravel beach opposite the wall, and also tried spots above and below that in the faster and slower water respectively.

Steady bites throughout the day on a range of baits, but nothing extraordinary and no spot ever really took off.
Chub were not huge (biggest 3lb) and "others" were dace and a few perch, with some a decent size which were entertaining to catch.

Only two fished. Fished the bottom end. Hot and sunny. Fished 8 til 3 . Plenty of chub caught on the float. DA tried the lead with pellets and caught two small barbel which was good to see. Great beat packed with chub difficult to get to the barbel though but we can’t complain catching chub all day is great fun

Fished the float in a good swim with meat feeding hemp and pellet for 1 chublet then fished straight lead over the feed for about two hours for a eel.moved to another swim and had a 3lb chub first chuck on a pellet feeder and that was it in this swim.moved into another noted swim and had a 5lb chub ...not my best days fishing whout a sniff of a barbel but a pleasure to fish this stretch.

Pleasant afternoon . Water .41m and clear.
A few fish moving so elected to fush dry using 12 size dark olive and landed one lovely trout frim head of rockpool.to 1.25 lb
My colleague fished woodstream with a plain haresear and caught 2 chub ofaround half pound.
.
While high on the bank at Rockpool saw a shoal of 6 chub to 2lb foraging the shallows and one larger specimen in the deeper water..
Also treated to a close encounter with a stoat who eyeballed me and sho off!!

Had 3 days at Barnard Castle, fish rising at end of caravan park and opposite Egglestone Abbey, a lot of fish rising, but at my last vist finding what they were taking was difficult, tried everything in the box. one on a palmered Whickham, 3 on a Griffiths and the last on a Shipmans Buzzer. Beautiful scenery, slippery rocks, but had a lovely time.
