4 rainbow on the bubble float, about 2 ft from the surface. Disappointing that people using paddle boards come so close to anglers, no regard for fishermen when they’re jumping into the water whilst we’re trying to fish…especially for the price we pay to fish here.

Its been a long time since I fished this beat and it was nice to return i had a very pleasant day aside for an encounter with hogweed which has left me with a blistered wrist ( I think this is behind the fallen willow about half way down the beat )
all fish caught were returned, fished nymphs upstream all day few mayfly knocking around yellow mays and few other tiny black things
river was carrying a bit of colour
all in all a good day ( apart from the hogweed )

Beat:Gromain & Upper Llanstephan

Fishing:Member Rod

Most of the fish were a modest size but with a few around the 10-11” mark.
Targeted grayling in the faster water, tight line nymphing with heavy bugs which got fish in the morning. A change of tactics to a lighter team gave good fishing in the afternoon with most coming to emerger top dropper patterns rather than any flies fished deeper.
Fished barbless so a lot of escapee’s as well .All quickly to hand and released without netting.

Great clear evening, fished from around 5pm to 9:30pm. Numerous rises throughout the evening but lots of activity on the surface from around 8:30pm. Two caught on dry black Knat fly both at lower end of the beat. Two brownies caught were around 11” and 8” and both returned safely.
