2 fished only due to work commitments of the other 2 booked in. One barbel each. Very slow for this stretch !

2 Barbel

Fished woodstream morning and rockpool afternoon. Some March Browns on surface in late morning to 2pm but no fish rising. I had no takes fishing small waterhen bloas. John had one fish of half pound - returned.
Fished rockpool from staging. No result. Water about .88 but cold ENE.

Pleasant days fishing. Caught one pike. No salmon appearing.

Great conditions (water level falling, stones at Maddox exposed), little wind and overcast - but no fish. Put spinner through all morning, then fly in the pm. Touched a couple of fish but suspect they were kelts at bottom of Maddox, near RH bank.
Fished The Windmill from LH bank with fly in late pm, right through to Maddox - excellent fly water with shooting head to get the distance.

Too cold and blustery.

Took the roving approach for the last piking session before the close season....20 minutes in a swim before moving on. River was in good condition, but the fish were not interested in either dead bait or plug.

Yet another nice days fishing on the Wye. 3 barbel 4lb, 8lb 1oz and 6lb 8oz, and 5 chub to 4lb. Fish were caught on halibut pellets and peperami fished on feeder tactics with a pva bag of pellets as well. Weather was cold and rainy but was enjoyable as usual!!!

Despite perfect conditions and trying different swims with both pellets and luncheon meat, the only action came from a 1lb 8oz Trout that took a piece of luncheon meat. Roll on the summer.

A tough day for both of us, with only one bite resulting in a barbel of 5lb. We fished the first couple of swims either side of the entrance, but there was little sign of any numbers of fish.

17lb salmon (weighed in net) caught this afternoon on a single hook flying C. My first Wye salmon.
