Weather very cold and dry with unexpected low level of water. Poor days fishing with only two rainbows caught by ledger. The fishing was also affected by the number of crayfish in the reservoir.

The water was slightly coloured which helped the fishing as we got off to a great start with 3 barbel in half an hour very early in the morning. The action slowed down soon after and we went searching for fish. A chub and small barbel followed around midday with my friend catching the last barbel and chub with an hour to go. All barbel between 6 and 8lbs. With the chub 3 and 4 lbs. Lovely fishing all round.

Good fishing, river in good condition however a little high to fish the croys in the wood. 4 barbel caught biggest 9lb all along Legg meadow

Water gin clear and a harder day. Water dropping and fish difficult to locate. Good challenging day.

1 Trout, 3 Grayling

A tough day for me as I blanked! My friend managed 2 barbel and 2 chub, but had to work hard for it. We started by climbing cardiac hill and fishing beyond the wood, but switched to the other side later on in the afternoon. This is a lovely stretch, and worth a visit, but the walk to the other side of the wood is hard work.

Visiting guest angler D.Paige reported River now much clearer and trying all the likely spots on beats 5 and 6 fishing dead-bait sprat's sink and draw 4 small pike to 8 lb were netted and a few follow ins from bigger fish which turned away at the last minute.

4 Pike

Fished private (club) beat just above Llanwrthwl. Had fish, 7-8lb at 9am on home tied cascade, size 8 barbless and a inter poly leader. Put a good bend in my 7/8 wt switch rod. Well coloured as one would expect, hook came out(barbless!) as fish was netted so the fish did not leave the water. Swam off very strongly.

1 Salmon

River pushing through with hint of colour, we caught fish in the meadow upstream of the car park on our first trip to this stretch. Fished pellets on feeder and caught regularly from our start at around 12.30 until 6. All fish between 5 and 9lb. Top day in beautiful surroundings.

9 Barbel

River in great condition. Started in the bottom pool opposite the house, had two barbel within 5 minutes but quickly quietened down. Enjoyed trotting for dace and chub in the middle of the day with a giant gudgeon thrown in for good measure. Barbel came on the feed again in the evening. A great day on what I think is one of the nicest beats on the river, lots of swim choices and just teaming with wildlife.

Good days fishing on both spinner (3 fish) and fly (2 fish). Plenty more fish were also lost during the day.
